Design Team
DnA Design – David Scheer + Allegra Bukojemsky
DnA Design is a young design office based in Homer, Alaska, offering landscape architecture, building design, site
planning and wetland delineation. DnA has projects throughout the southern Kenai Peninsula and the Anchorage area, as well as Northern California.
David Scheer and Allegra Bukojemsky have been collaborating both formally and informally for over 5 years and officially
joined forces in 2005. David’s training and experience in architecture, construction and building science and Allegra’s background in landscape architecture, design and ecology make for a
dynamic partnership. Local knowledge and a stake in the future of Homer make DnA Design especially enthusiastic about this project.
DnA Design will be the primary consultant and management team for the project, offering local knowledge and a consistent
methodology. Both David and Allegra will be the main coordinators and contacts for the team.
Allegra currently works full time for Biohabitats, Inc. but continues to work
with DnA Design on this project.
EDAW, Inc – James L. Sipes, ASLA
Jim Sipes is a landscape architect, senior associate at EDAW, and the founding principal of Sand County Studios. His work is broad-based and includes
environmental planning and design, environmentally based transportation design, park and recreation design, natural and cultural resource management, watershed management, and community based
design.
Jim is our GIS guru. He has received national recognition for his writing
and ability to make the most complex concepts and ideas understandable. Jim will be doing advanced GIS analysis and modeling, presentation and communications
The Kenai Watershed Forum – Stephanie
Sims & Mike Gracz
Stephanie Sims, GIS Analyst, has eight years’ experience in applying GIS principles and techniques including data acquisition, manipulation and modeling using a variety of software
platforms. Stephanie has been with the Kenai Watershed Forum for the past two years, and will bring the resources and work ethic of that organization to the project team.
Stephanie will be in charge of setting up and managing the primary GIS database, coordinating local information, and
performing primary geographic analysis.
Mike Gracz has a BS in Forest Biology and MS in Forest Resources and has been working as an ecologist for 23 years. He has worked on a large
number of diverse projects including the natural disturbance history of Kenai white spruce forests; a GIS atlas for Cook Inlet Keeper; and created the classification system and mapped the wetlands
on about one million acres of the Kenai Peninsula. He mapped the wetlands in the City of Homer at finer detail, and is involved in a Homer Wetland
Functional Assessment project.
Mike will consult on data quality and management, and wetland and watershed analysis.
Ginny Fay
Ginny Fay is the founder of EcoSystems, a consulting firm specializing in economic and ecological research, conflict resolution and
writing. She has
30 years of professional experience as a resource economist, biologist and researcher. As the Alaska State Tourism Director, she directed the Alaska Department of Community and Economic
Development tourism office as well as the business development and research sections. Ms Fay worked extensively with large and small tourism companies, communities, and state and federal agencies
on a variety of issues in
Alaska
and the West. Ms. Fay has a professional passion for sound economic development in concert with community values and natural area preservation.
Ginny will be advising and conducting research on natural resource economics.
Borderline – Paul
Voeller
Paul Voeller is a registered land surveyor and design engineer based in Anchor Point. Paul has been involved in land development, subdivision design, utility infrastructure design and
construction in Idaho and Alaska. He has held a tenure track position teaching modern surveying techniques with computer applications, and is skilled in
GPA and GIS technologies.
Paul will consult on land development and construction issues.
