DEVELOPER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

Below you can view various levels of analysis from Development Suitability, Landscape Suitability, Green Infrastructure, and select base maps.  The Primary Suitability Maps and the Suitability Zone Maps are to be used in determining incentive eligibility for the Project Certification Program.

Some of our base maps and suitability maps have been derived from construction cost maps and property value maps while the landscape suitability maps are based on sensitive systems such as wildlife habitat, wetlands, drainages and steep slopes. A few of the Green Infrastructure (GI) Maps have been included in the current Draft Homer Comprehensive Plan as an example of Green Infrastructure Mapping.

We continue to research local and national trends and to work with our Technical Advisory Committee and other experts in the community to define the parameters and ranking values of land suitability that are relevant for Homer. The intention is to create a transparent and malleable product that can respond to changes in the landscape and public opinion.

As the ranking values are finalized, a list will be posted on this site for public feedback. Thank you to all of you who contributed data to date. A copy of our current data list is posted here. Please contact us at dna@dna-dsn.com if you know of existing data that that is not on our list, or have comments or suggestions.
